If you are not using a pocket compass chain, it is best to not have a fob on the compass. The compass has an accurate air damped compass needle, and the perimeter of the compass rove is marked in five degree increments. The smooth and sleek design also makes this compass perfect for inlay work into wood with the use of a Forstner bit, or in tooled leather or various crafts. This plain compass can also be used as a small paperweight or desk compass. Since the Plain Smooth Pocket Compass is made from thick solid brass, it will never rust. The brass surfaces have been hand polished to a brilliant mirror finish. The compass measures 1 3/8 inch (35 mm) in diameter and is 1/2 inch (13 mm) thick, and weighs 0.97 ounces (27.4 grams).
