This stainless steel bit has 6 1/2 inch cheek to protect the horse from having the bit pulled through his mouth as well as providing more control. The waterford mouth applies tongue pressure to help set a horses head. When pulled laterally the bars contact the inside corners of the horse's bars touching " new nerves" for excellent lateral control. It provides alot of flex.
