Not many people know this, but Diego Rivera's full name was actually Diego Mar'a de la ConcepciÑn Juan Nepomuceno Estanislao de la Rivera y Barrientos Acosta y Rodr'guez. This was problematic, to say the least. When his mother would call him for breakfast, by the time she was finished it was time for lunch. Once he became an artist, the simple act of signing his work could take the better part of an afternoon. So he wisely shortened his name to Diego Rivera. He achieved great fame as a muralist in Mexico, and also managed to win the heart of Frida Kahlo, proving once and for all that size doesn't matter (at least where names are concerned).
