CollectA's detailed replica of the Liopleurodon is lifelike down to its scaly skin and protruding teeth. The carnivorous reptile lived in the Middle Jurassic Period, about 160 - 155 million years ago. The first specimens were three teeth found in 1873. Fossil specimens have been found in England, France and Germany. The Liopleurodon had four paddle-like flippers, indicating it was a powerful swimmer. The largest known skull of the creature is 5.1 feet long and some scientists believe the Liopleurodon could have been between 23 - 34 feet in length.
