In 2001 the USPS issued the fifth and final Looney Tunes Series stamp, depicting Porky Pig, as a mail carrier, delivering a letter bearing another stamp from the series, Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner. The Looney Tunes Series was created by the Postal Service to promote the hobby of stamp collecting. Shy, stuttering Porky Pig first appeared in a cartoon in 1935. Warner Bros. developed him into a timid straight man for the comically clever Bugs Bunny and the wildly wacky Daffy Duck.
