REMOTE CONTROL AND TIMED-OFF CONTROL OF APPLIANCES AND LIGHTING. Simply Automated's Controlled Relay Receptacle with Timer is a wire-in duplex receptacle designed to control 120VAC appliances, fan/pump motors and lights using lighting scene-link commands received over the powerline, or via economical remote switch. It delivers on/off control for appliances, fan/pump motors and lights. Installation is simple. The module wires into a standard 120 VAC outlet/junction box. The appliance, motor or light to be controlled is plugged into the top receptacle. The connected appliance can be manually controlled by a UPB switch, remote switch or multi-button controller, or automatically with a scheduler, I/O module or with any PC, security and home automation controller that provides a UPB serial driver option When the Receptacle is controlled by a remote switch, local response time adjustments are available (300, 450, 600 and the default 750 mSec) and configured with UPStart configuration software. Local response time is the time from rocker press to load response. The timer feature of the Receptacle automatically turns off the controlled outlet via scene-link commands, after a pre-set period of 1, 5 or 30 seconds, 1, 2, 4, 10, 20, 30, 40, or 50 minutes, 1, 2, 3, or 4 hours. The timer can be disabled so the Receptacle functions like a standard controlled receptacle (no timer function). A UPB switch, such as the Universal Dimming Transceiver, can also command any of the timer functions of the Receptacle, via a lighting scene/link command, to enable any selection of timed off options. Lighting scene commands are communicated using Universal Powerline Bus (UPB) technology. UPB devices are easily integrated into a new or existing home. UPB technology requires no new or special wiring. It provides a flexible, low-cost alternative to hardwired or RF home lighting and automation strategies.
