First time on CD for this rare live performance from 1971. 75 minutes of Grant Green burning it up at his favorite club in his favorite city, the Club Mozambique in Detroit. Added to band regulars saxophonist Clarence Thomas and organist Ronnie Foster are soul tenor master Houston Person and the ultimate groovemaker, Idris Muhammad. They stretch out on five popular R&B hits of the day as well as three originals, including an early version of 'Jan Jan'. Because the multi-track masters of this session have not been found, the mono mixes were used to master this CD. Eight tracks total. Blue Note. 2006.
