About Dramm The story of the Dramm Corporation begins with a single invention and the tenacity of one man. In the early 1940s, a florist named John G. Dramm invented a product that would ultimately become the cornerstone of the Dramm Corporation. It was a watering nozzle with 400 tiny holes that turned a high-velocity hose into a soft-flowing shower that's gentle on plants and new seedlings. Word soon spread of Dramm's innovative design, and what began as a one-man ''basement operation'' became a 55,000 square foot facility employing over 50 people, and a highly respected name in the home and garden industry. Dramm Corporation has remained a family business throughout its long history. John G. Dramm died before his time in 1951, and the company was continued by his wife Perdita, who used Dramm's modest profits to send her two sons to college. Dramm's sons took over elements of the business after graduation, and Perdita, after retiring from her job as a school librarian in 1972, devoted herself full-time to the business until her death in 1996 at the age of 89.
