SPECIAL TROPICAL HARDENER is formulated for use with West System brand #105 resin in extremely warm and/or humid conditions for general bonding and coating applications, providing approximately twice the pot life and working time as #206 slow hardener. Provides adequate pot life up to 110 degree F to 70 degree F when additional pot life and assembly time may be desired. Provides 15-20 minutes of pot life at 95 degree F and 50-60 minutes at 70 degree F. Will cure to a solid state in 6-8 hours at 95 degree F and 20-24 hours at 70 degree F. Further curing occurs over the next 4-9 days. Forms a clear, amber-colored solid. Must be dispensed with #303 special-ratio mini pumps to achieve the proper 3 parts #105 to 1 part #209 mixture. Or dispensed with either #306-3 or #309-3 high capacity pumps. Size: .66 Pint.
- 209 EXTRA SLOW HARDENER is a low-viscosity epoxy curing agent. It is useful in a majority of hot-weather bonding situations, and when very long working time and cure time are needed. 209 Extra Slow Hardener produces a slow epoxy cure that develops physical properties gradually at room temperature. It yields a rigid, high-strength moisture-vapor resistant and functionally waterproof solid.
- USE WITH WEST SYSTEM 105 RESIN for general coating and bonding applications in extremely warm and/or humid conditions, and for extended working time at room temperature. Forms a clear, amber-colored solid with good physical properties and moisture resistance for bonding and coating applications.
- PROVIDES ABOUT TWICE the working time of 206 Slow Hardener. 209's pot life at 72°F (22°C) is 40 to 50 minutes. Pot life at 95°F (35°C) is 15 to 20 minutes. Cures to a solid state at 72°F (22°C) in 20 to 24 hours. Cure to a solid state at 95°F (35°C) in 6 to 8 hours. Reaches maximum strength at 72°F in 4 to 9 days Minimum recommended working temperature is 70°F (21°C).
- PAIR WITH WEST SYSTEM 105-A Epoxy Resin. Blend with with WEST SYSTEM 105 Epoxy Resin at a 3-parts resin to 1-part hardener ratio.
- EASILY MODIFIED with WEST SYSTEM Fillers, Additives, and Pigments to suit the job at hand, whether coating, applying fiberglass, structural bonding, or fairing. Not intended for clear coating.
