Carmen debuted on Decca in the mid-Fifties, after gigs singing with giants like Count Basie. Her solo material was always gorgeous, her phrasing unique yet impeccable. Her duets with Sammy Davis Jr. are standard-bearers; their track here makes its CD debut. This Millennium Series collection features Carmen's pop jewels from "Good Morning Heartache" to "My Funny Valentine" & her interpretations of jazz melodies from "I Remember Clifford" to "A Nightingale Sang In Berkeley Square".
