The banner is printed on durable polycotton fabric with a stars and stripes design that resembles the American flag. There are two red stripes, two white stripes, and a central blue stripe with white stars. The banner is pleated in the center, evening out toward the edges. This gives the fan flag a traditional decorative feel. There are double-stitched hems around the edge of the banner. Along the top edge, there are three brass grommets—two on the sides and one in the center.
