Benny Goodman alum Peggy Lee followed up her monster 1947 solo hit "Mañana (Is Soon Enough for Me)" with 1960's Latin ala Lee, a collection of Broadway standards set to light Afro-Cuban beats. Jack Marshall arranged and conducted the uncredited Los Angeles orchestra, which provides driving percussion, chirping flutes, and occasional backup vocals to this extremely listenable if somewhat polite affair. The 36-minute CD includes original and new liner notes, the LP's 12 original cuts, and 3 bonus tracks, including the Lee-penned "Olé" from a follow-up album Olé ala Lee, and the obligatory "Mañana." --David Horiuchi
