Bassist Niels-Henning Orsted-Pedersen (NHOP as he is commonly referred to) has been an international figure in jazz for over 3 decades, performing and recording with such jazz greats as Sonny Rollins, Dexter Gordon, Freddie Hubbard, Wayne Shorter and Bill Evans among others. The follow up to his previous acclaimed Verve release - Those Who Were - features his core trio with guest appearances by alto sax master Phil Woods, Oscar Peterson and vocalists Monica Zetterlund and Monique.
