After having compiled the core of the 400th anniversary edition sponsored by the Real Academia Española, the text and notes of Don Quixote come now in this revised and augmented version; also in the care of Francisco Rico. The text became complete after an examination of all significant editions, old and modern, using the most rigorous philological methods. Notes clarify doubts that a modern reader could raise. They have been worded to provide maximum clarity and a streamlined reading.
