Nova Scotia, or New Scotland is one of the most scenic and interesting parts of North America to visit. It is historically significant, being the recipient of tens of thousands of American settlers fleeing the chaos and devastation caused by the American Revolution, but is also has the former Frence fortress of Louisburg, at one time the largest and most-heavily fortified military encampment in the world. Nova Scotia is also home to Lunenburg, a picture postcard-perfect fishing village, and to Peggy's Cove, with its unusual post office in a lighthouse. Halifax, itself is very popular with visitors, and the map has an excellent map of the city as an inset, along with neighbouring Dartmouth, Scottish heritage is alive and well in this part of Canada, where Gaelic can still be heard. Time for a visit! This is an excellent travel companion.
