The Lion in South Africa;

In 1894 British-Canadian big game hunter Sir Clive Phillipps-Wolley (1853–1918) published a book of collected works that included chapters by various big game hunters. This book "Big Game Shooting, Vol. 1" contained a chapter by F.C. Selous (1851–1917) the noted African big game hunter. This chapter "The Lion in South Africa" has been excerpted and reprinted here for the convenience of the interested reader who may not have time to read the entire 2 Volume book.
