Our book "Beginning with Syllables" is the third step in our series to prepare children to read in Russian. The goal of this book is to teach the child read some syllables and simple words, thus introducing them to fluent reading of all syllables.

This book intorduces the concept of reading syllables to children who know most of their letters in Russian. The vowels, soft and hard consonants are color-coded.
This book starts with vowels and hard consonants. Each page has a picutre and only one word on it, to focus the child's attention. There is a sentence for the parent to read about the picture. The child can not always guess from the picture what is the word, so they have to actually read it.
The next book in the series works on the soft consonant, which is a harder concept.
