"Atwateh d-Lishani Atoraya" (My Assyrian Language Alphabet) is a sturdy board book featuring twenty-two colorful paintings that will help young children learn Assyrian letters and words. Using a familiar poetic style found in popular alphabet books, children reading this book will undoubtedly broaden their Assyrian and English vocabularies. My illustrations feature recognizable animals, everyday objects, and memorable images that reflect the Assyrian heritage. I also painted two Christian images: Jesus as the Good Shepherd, and an image of a young Assyrian girl holding a Palm Sunday cross. Like "Khaywate d-Khaqla" (Farm Animals), I wrote this book in Assyrian, English, and an easy-to-read transliteration. "Atwateh d-Lishani Atoraya" is a wonderful addition to family, church, and preschool libraries.
