Disillusionment is the dissolution of an illusion and a return to wonder, to innocence, and to truth. What is "the red pill"? The red pill is a term used in the movie The Matrix, to refer to "The undistorted truth." What distorts truth? False belief. The phase "I don't believe it" implies that something is evident but that one does not or will not accept it because the evidence does not fit an existing belief (i.e. and existing denial). "I don't believe it" is often the first thing someone says when he eventually accepts that which becomes obvious to him in due time.
