Chinese for Kids Set 2 is a confidence-building set of first Mandarin readers for children ages 3-8 who are beginning to learn Chinese. Developed with teachers, Set 2 combines simple sentences, picture cues, context, humor and repetition in just one line of text per page using the Spot Color Immersion Method®. Kids can soon finish the beginning readers by themselves, an early success that motivates and bolsters their confidence. The online audio narration allows kids to learn the proper pronunciation by a native Mandarin speaker. Set 2 features:
- 10 little Chinese books for kids, each 16 pages with 10 theme vocabulary words
- One line of text per page with a repetition structure in pinyin with parallel Traditional Chinese characters (Simplified variants incl.)
- English translation at the end of each reader
- Bilingual English-Chinese vocabulary chart on the inside cover
- Online audio narration by a native speaker. Audio is accessed online using the web address/URL in the books (stream or download).
Set 2 has 10 themes: Food, Verbs, Tableware, Art supplies, Feelings, Nature, Jobs, Furniture, Bedtime and a Surprise Delivery.
Chinese for Kids is a non-intimidating first series for learning Chinese for kids in preschool, kindergarten or early elementary. Toddlers and babies can listen and look. The English translation is at the back so kids stay in pinyin/Chinese but get help if needed. Teachers, parents and homeschools use it to complement Mandarin books for kids, flash cards and lessons.
