About 200 holsters from private collections are photographed, front and back, and described as to material, construction, and markings. The most detailed part is on German manufactures (about a third of the book), with strong sections on Japan and Italy. The only color photos are about ten of Japanese holsters, for some reason. Many small countries receive some treatment, notably Sweden, Hungary, and Spain in some detail. Norway, the Netherlands, Canada, Iran, Poland, Portugal, France, and Finland have representation, but Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, and Turkey have none. The photos are clear and well done. The text sometimes runs close to the binding, but this is a large size book on fine glossy paper and well manufactured.
