While the message is clear, the imagery of Revelation is unusual to modern readers. Dr. W.B. West Jr. insisted the best way to study Revelation was through first century glasses. This method includes investigating the author's purpose in writing and the Understanding of the original first century readers to the message. Although themes of the Bible apply to every generation, they become clearer when understood through the glasses of the original audience.
