Galison's Japanese Cherry Blossoms Keepsake Box of note cards reproduces four different details of cherry blossoms from the Henry G. Gilbert Nursery and Seed Trade Catalog Collection in the Rare and Special Collections division of the National Agricultural Library. Printed on the botttom of the box is an especially apt Japanese proverb: "Experience the beauties of nature, and in doing so learn about yourself." The sturdy decorative box holds cards and envelopes neatly and has information about the cherry trees given to Washington, DC by the mayor of Tokyo in 1912. When the cards have been sent, the box is great for storing all sorts of little things—from extra buttons to pressed blossoms.
